SUMMARY: Quincy Athletics is part of the Central Washington Athletic Conference (2A). Our coaches are responsible to train and prepare student-athletes for meaningful competition through instruction in the fundamental skills, strategies and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Knowledge of all athletic policies and codes approved by the Quincy School District in regards to Administrative, Student, Equipment, Facilities and Program duties. Knowledge of the WIAA handbook relating to coaching, training, and clinics. Demonstrated technical skills, and successful experience to assist teaching these skills to school student athletes. Exhibited organizational skills and abilities to assist with a well-managed program. Maintains discipline and works with the Athletic Director to increase morale and cooperation within the school sports program and school community. Strives to improve skills by attending clinics and using resources. Performs related tasks consistent with the scope and responsibility of the position. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, community and staff. Other duties as assigned by Athletic Director or Superintendent. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Must meet the age requirements of WIAA applicable to the position (21 years of age for a head coach and 19 years of age for assistant coach). Hold a valid current First Aid/CPR certification card or be able to obtain it. Must adhere to the standards set forth by WIAA. Ability to perform all duties in accordance with applicable Board policies and district and legal requirements. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all situations and possess great human relations and interpersonal skills and take initiative when necessary. Ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations. Bilingual preferred.
